Here at York Street we offer a programme of meaningful events to support your Sunday evening.
The hall is open from 5:45 pm until 7:30 pm and a warm welcome awaits you. The purpose of Sunday@6pm is to help anyone who is seeking and searching; for the things that really matter: the way to go, the truth to know and a life of joy and peace lived by faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.
The Sunday@6pm programme includes:
A Gospel Tea once a month
Come and enjoy fresh home-cooked food and hear a message from the Bible. The Hall is laid out with round tables so you can share good food and chat easily with others over a cup of tea or coffee. The Gospel Tea opens with a hymn, and a prayer to God asking Him to help us.
Bible Teaching Meetings
Come and hear accessible teaching from God’s word the Bible. You will hear messages on a range of topics and themes from the Bible, each message relevant to people’s experiences in today’s world. Refreshments are provided at the end of the meeting and there is time to talk over what you have heard. For more information about Bible Teaching Meetings go to the information provided on the home page.
Gospel Messages
We want to share the gospel with you; it is God’s good news: ‘For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life’. John 3:16.
The Bible tells us that God wants us to have a right relationship with Him. God is holy and just and we have nothing to offer Him because we do what is wrong. In the person of His own perfect Son, Jesus Christ, God provided the only person who is able to pay our debt to God. The Lord Jesus achieved this when He died on the cross. You can be certain God will forgive you and receive you because the Lord Jesus Christ has been raised again. He is a living and wonderful Saviour. He invites you to make sure you have recognised your need of being reconciled to God, and to place your faith in His great work of love on the cross. When you do this, a new life begins, one of assurance and blessing that will continue forever.
The Lord Jesus Christ has promised to ‘save to the uttermost all who come to God by Him’, Hebrews 7:25, and we can be certain He is able to do that.
A Time Together
The Bible encourages Christians to come together, to praise God and to share with each other what God has done for them. A Time Together includes singing hymns and choruses, enjoying a message from the Bible, sharing conversation and refreshments.
Listening and sharing our faith and experiences with one another demonstrates our mutual love and interdependence. Through sharing together we can better understand each other, and we can be helped and strengthened for whatever is ahead of us.
